D-Day Litter – born June 6, 2025
Maaike (Golden Gate Wildest Dream) x Theo (Miltassias Theo av Kinzo)
See litter announcement and detail here.
Seven healthy puppies were born to Maaike from a frozen semen breeding from Swedish male Theo on June 6, 2025.
I had had my eye on Theo’s line as valuable unrepresented genetics to import to the US since 2017. His family contains some of the top Scandinavian agility and bloodtracking dogs and represents the last remaining line of his grandfather Bauke, who won the Dutch club national specialty. His pedigree is an interesting mix of old and carefully bred Dutch, Swedish and Finnish lines, and he himself is Swedish-American. He is a relaxed, open and friendly boy who easily slots into a pack and lives with another male: a rarity in Kooikers. He brings the bone, balanced angulation, and masculine head and coat that I knew Maaike needed, while balancing her ticking and intensity of work drive and bringing the Whisper Knüt line that I always wanted to combine with Casper’s. Maaike and Theo are as relatively unrelated as Kooikers come, too, with a 6-generation COI of 1.38%, a 10-generation pedigree COI of 15.97%, and a 6-generation AVK (ancestor loss coefficient) of 94.4%.
Whelping and puppy raising was joyful and without incident, and all puppies have grown up to be happy and healthy and are thriving in their new homes! They now live around the country in California, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, Georgia, Kentucky and Missouri.
