Casper x Emmi Litter 7 weeks (+ Braam RBIS!)

It’s been nearly a month since we were in California visiting Casper’s litter with Emmi (Waterbound Endearing Emmi). They’ve been in their new homes and doing well. We absolutely loved seeing their different personalities and Susanne and helpers have done such a lovely job with them – we wish them the best in their future careers!

In unrelated news (except that Braam is the puppies’ great-uncle), at the end of June we entered conformation at the UKC Washington Classic, a large and always-fun UKC show. While conformation is not my thing and I have very happily not shown since the 2017 specialty, Braam loves it and I wanted to give him the opportunity to try it, as usually his “career” is backburnered as he comes with us shuttling Casper around the Northwest for Flyball. Well you should have seen this happy boy – despite a long hot day, he was flirting up a storm with the people and the dogs, and charmed one of the judges (a spaniel expert, no less!) into awarding him a Gundog Group 1 and then a Reserve Best In Show. I’m fabulously proud of this boy I entered on a whim just to give him something fun to do!

At the same show, Braam failed Barn Hunt (back to lifting legs!) but Casper put up a 91 and a second place finish in Rally 2 – although it was my first time handling at this level and I was sure we did not Q!
